US Open Mixed Doubles Qualifier (Day Three)
Date: November 21, 2026
Join Us as a Volunteer for the US Open Mixed Doubles Qualifier!
Curl Mesabi is once again hosting the US Open Mixed Doubles qualifier which will qualify teams for Nationals. The event will be held November 19-22, 2026. Last year, the team that qualified out of this event went on to win the national championship!
We’re looking to fill various roles throughout the four-day event. Most positions require no prior curling experience — just a willingness to help and a positive attitude.
Volunteer tasks:
Online Scoring: End-by-end scoring on the Curling Zone website (It’s easy to learn – but you should have a basic understanding of the game and scoring)
Ice Prep: Prepping, cleaning and maintaining the ice for each draw
Last Stone Draw Measure: Measurements to determine last stone advantage (This is really easy to learn too, no prior experience needed – and it’s fun to be out on the ice with the athletes!)
Clean up/Pro shop: general building maintenance and staffing the pro shop
Volunteer Perks:
Free drink for every shift worked
Work two consecutive shifts and receive a free meal from Bobcat’s!
