Learn to Curl

For those of you who are new to curling or would like to give the sport a try, we have several options available at Curl Mesabi this year. Below, you will see a variety of free and inexpensive opportunities to get acquainted with curling. If you are interested in becoming a member of the club and participating in the new curler league, there are reduced rates for new curlers. Read below for opportunities to get out on the ice and give this great sport a try.

NEW CURLER LEAGUE
For those of you who are new to curling or would like to try curling, we are starting a New Curler’s League this year. This league will meet on Tuesdays at 6:30 PM. The new curlers will enter as individuals and randomly be placed into teams each week. At the start of each draw, time will be spent on teaching on-ice safety, the fundamentals of the game, scoring, strategy, and objectives. The teams will then play a short 4 – 6 end game and finish upstairs at the Free Guard Zone. Throughout this experience we will teach new curlers about the traditions that have made curling the favorite winter sport of tens of millions worldwide.

Please join us on Tuesdays if you have done some curling or are completely new to the sport. We welcome all beginning levels. Participation in this league will also allow for opportunities to join other leagues that play throughout the week.

BURGER NIGHTS
Back by popular demand, Curl Mesabi will again be hosting Burger Night this season. Burger Night is a great way for people to try the sport of curling. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, there is a spot for you on the ice!

Social hour: 5:30PM
Curling: 6:30PM
Cost: $10.00 (includes a burger, fries, and curling)
