Curl Mesabi Classic December 13-15, 2013

Stellar Field lined up for Curl Mesabi Classic
December 13 – 15, 2013

Although the actual number of participants is down for this year’s Curl Mesabi Classic Cash Bonspiel, the quality certainly has not suffered. Among this year’s field is former Bronze Medal winner of the 2006 Olympics, Pete Fenson’s Bemidji quartet.  Also committed are the present European Champions and Swiss Olympic representative Sven Micheal team and the David Murdoch team from Scotland, who is a former World Campion and current Great Britain representative to the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi, Russia. Rounding out the European field is David Misun from Slovakia.

While these teams may be the headliners, there are several teams that have the experience and talent to challenge these Olympians, including a strong Scott Manners team from Saskatchewan and several excellent teams from the northern Ontario region in Canada.

Representatives from the United States are former Bronze Medalist at the World Championship, Todd Birr from Mankato, MN, former US Champion Craig Brown from Madison, Wisconsin and former National Champion, Brady Clark from Seattle, Washington.

It should be a great weekend of excellent curling.  Come on down and watch some of the best curling in the world.
