Junior State to be Held

Curl Mesabi will be hosting the 2000 Minnesota Junior State Playdowns January 7, 8 and 9. Volunteers are needed for time keeping, ice maintenance and other duties. Draw times for which timekeepers are needed are Friday 10:00AM, 3:00PM and 8:00PM; Saturday 9:00AM, 2:00PM and 7:00PM; and Sunday at 9:00AM. You may signup for one or as many draws as you like. Please contact Jim Wainio at 744-2448 or Tim Drobnick 744-4048 to assist with our first State curling event.

Senior Nationals

As Curl Mesabi's first National competition we need your help with the Senior Nationals. The Senior Nationals will be held the 17th-20th of February at both Curl Mesabi and Hibbing. Gene "Gene the Curling Machine" Johnson (741-8312), Bruce Johnson (744-2345) and the rest of the committee have done an excellent job landing and organizing the event but they need volunteers before and during the event. Please notify them to volunteer.

1999-2000 Dues are Past Due

Dues and locker rental for the 1999-2000 season are currently past due. Please pay dues prior to January 1, or your curling privileges may be revoked and your lock may be cut.

Equipment Needs

Please contact Tom Miller for all your curling equipment and apparel needs. He may be contacted at Curl Mesabi or at 744-3044.

Restaurant and Bar

Please frequent and support the Curl Mesabi restaurant and bar. In part, the success of our club depends on the success of the bar and restaurant operations. Restaurant and bar proceeds will be used to evaluate our rent of the building for next season. The better the restaurant and bar do, the lower our rent will be, and the lower the rent the lower the dues. So you see we all have a stake in total operation of Curl Mesabi.

Bonspiel Schedule

The following is a list of the upcoming Bonspiels at Curl Mesabi. Please plan to participate in these upcoming events. Contact the Bonspiel Committee Chair - William T. Maki (744-1130) - to volunteer for or help coordinate the various Spiels.
